The Six Witches of Alcrést are the most beautiful and dangerous women on the continent, and represent the pinnacle of magicka. But who are they really? Written here is the commonly available knowledge. What secrets lie buried in the past?
From the textbook “Of the Secret History of Witches, 10th edition”, First Edition textbook written by Íthka, the 9th Third Witch of the Arcane Grimoire
– 697 Second Dawn (155 IY) –
Background
In 697 of the Second Dawn, Íthka, the 9th incarnation of the Third Witch released a series of textbooks for her students detailing the unknown history of the Witches of Alcrést, clarifying what it means to be a Witch, and what makes them so special.
Witches are supremely powerful mages that are the reincarnating souls of the original six women researchers who created the art of magicka.
Creating Magic
In the year 4654 of the First Dawn, 1,293 years ago, a particular sisterhood of six gifted Aíludé women made a breakthrough discovery, calling it magicka: the ability to harness and release the natural energies accumulated in crystals and gemstones.
They formed the first magicka workshop in a local pub, which was quickly taught to resistance command and spread amongst the fighters of the rebellions against the Amísén. It was an important step in history, and gave the resistance forces a devastatingly powerful, although crude and rudimentary weapon. Magicka was in its infancy and was not the reliably useful tool it is today.
There were other breakthroughs happening at the same time with alchemy development, though the science was still theoretical at the time. Oration was well known amongst Aíludé tribes, who had been practicing it since awakening.
The Witches would not be known as such until much later but were becoming famous for their discovery in their time. They continued magicka research, until even after the advent of alchemy.
Forbidden Experiments
After the rebellions against the Amísén, the gods of the Asékén, the six continued research into methods of transcending mortal limits. Death became the focus of their research, and overcoming their own mortality. It quickly turned dark with experiments being conducted on people and their souls. While others sought to remake society after the wars, research that was bloodstained, macabre and that should have been forbidden was being done in the secret places of the continent.
It is unknown by what techniques and methods they used, but they achieved their goals and set about afterwards to destroy the research. But secrets this dark rarely stay hidden.
Witch Hunts
In those early days, a lot could be done in the dark as society was in a state of constant upheaval. However, once some stability finally fell across Alcrést, the implications of unchecked magicka and alchemical research became exposed. The experimentation on people and the unknown number of those sacrificed for the vanity of six mages became public knowledge in 142 of the Second Dawn. They became fugitives and were called Witches as a pejorative. They hadn’t had the time to accumulate the knowledge they have today, and so when they were found, they were mercilessly slaughtered and could barely put up a fight.
They would not stay dead, however. They could not. A new generation of Witches was born, inheriting the memories and knowledge of the last, but keeping some semblance of their new host’s persona. The reincarnation is not quite complete, as the new Witch is not quite the old one.
This fact is not fully understood by most who assume the Witches are simply reincarnated as the same people they were. While there are some personality differences, there is something of a shared intent in common amongst them. Each Witch is dedicated to some ideal which persists through reincarnations. These are likely the remnants of the personalities from the first Witches.
The new Witches were found out eventually, and they too were hunted and killed. This repeated the next few generations, and many, many girls were killed. Many of whom were innocent, guilty of simply being accused of being a Witch.
And so, the cycle continued.
Eventually though, the power of the Witch became undeniable. By 270 of the Second Dawn, those sent to kill them would never return or would return missing limbs or be horribly disfigured by flame and ice. Witches were already feared, but now they held true power. It would be another few generations of Witches before they were sought after for their military power, wisdom in statecraft or in teaching at the colleges. Some opted to engage in society; others chose to avoid it. The title of ‘Witch’ became a title of honor, and they wear it well.
The Influence of Witches
In modern times, the presence of a Witch residing in a nation has acted as a deterrent to other hostile nations. It has also influenced some of their host kingdoms to instigate and bully other nations who would fear drawing the ire of the resident Witch, making them capitulate to demands or surrender land without bloodshed.
The prevalence of Witches has also influenced the status of women in society. As they became well known historically and increasingly respected and feared for the power, so too did the status and rank of women increase.
The discovery of the fiercely matriarchal Sekh compounded this effect. Mage corps don’t discriminate based on sex, and it is considered a true meritocracy on Alcrést. Women are also able to ascend the thrones in most kingdoms and empires.
Most countries have a festival or series of festivals celebrating the Witches or an accomplishment of a specific Witch. Parents look forward to giving birth to daughters, for the potential of them being born Witches.
It is observed that Witches have some special abilities that are not readily known. Specifically, it was revealed by Íthka that Witches have the passive ability to alter how others perceive them. The exact mechanism is unknown, but it is inherently tied to their Intents.
Names and Titles
Names and titles are powerful things in Alcrést, especially for mages and orators. Particularly powerful mages receive a ‘name’, a title of sorts that highlights a specific aspect, attribute, or accomplishment made by the mage. There are no mages more powerful than Witches, and their names reflect that fact.
Witch titles are numbered, First through Sixth, but that does not indicate rank, the only exception being the First Witch. Many named mages also have secondary unofficial titles they are known by, either from nobility or from commoners. These titles are usually derogatory or complimentary in nature, and some Witches prefer to be addressed by these over their own official titles.
The Known Witches

Aétéría, The 17th First Witch of the Dawn’s Lament
Age: 28
Nameday: Réakusa 2
Other titles: The Witch of Lament, The Witch of the Sword,
Whereabouts: Serving as the High Inquisitor of the Rínadaésé, the Holy City of Korína, Sovereign Territory of the Rínadaésé
Zhiényomí (name meaning / reading): “Shining star”, “Pure bonds of existence”
Intent: Justice
Background
Aétéría is the 17th incarnation of the First Witch, and was born in 676 IY, to an aristocratic family in Lumínasé. Her mother was the sister to a Lord, and her father owned a few tannery businesses in the city and was a manufacturer of fine leather goods.
Her parents doted on her, but her mother was a bit unstable and overly attached. When Aétéría was three, her mother gave birth to another daughter. She grew up bilingual, speaking both Atíríníl and Laénara natively.
When she was four years old, she told her parents that she was a Witch. Initially it was shrugged off as a child’s imagination, but she displayed high level magicka soon after that left no doubt.
This caused a change in her mother.
Seeing that Aétéría was a reincarnated Witch, her mother began to despair, feeling that the Witch had stolen her true daughter’s life. She became cold, and at times would tell Aétéría to give her daughter back, and that she should have never been born. She would call her a monster and deny her even being her daughter. She felt disgusted, as if she had given birth to a grown woman.
But all the while, Aétéría simply wanted a mother. She had the memories and the skills of previous Witches, but life to life, Witches are entirely different people. Her mother could not understand.
The First Witch has always been known as a fierce warrior. The memories she inherited made her calm and apparently cold to the sight of death and blood. When hurt, Aétéría did not cry. She liked to play with swords. Seeing a dead animal did not frighten her. Her mother took notice and became more and more disturbed and convinced that Aétéría was a monster.
On her sixth nameday Aétéría received a dagger from her father as a gift. Her mother quickly took it from her and said she would hold it for her until she has trained in weapons. Aétéría calmly and cooly explained that there wasn’t a better swordsman than her on the entire continent, as she was the Witch of the Sword. The declaration disturbed her mother even more.
Later, while she was playing with her little sister, her mother came behind her and attempted to slash her neck but missed, slashing the left side of Aétéría’s mouth and jaw instead. Aétéría tried to run, but her mother caught up with her, straddled her and tried to stab her through her chest. Aétéría, seeing her mother’s emerald necklace, quickly extracted the air elemental energy from the stone and blasted wind energy at her mother, sending her careening into the far wall, breaking several of her vertebrae, and paralyzing her from the waist down.
Even after this, Aétéría loved her mother and ran over to hug her, attempting to console her mother’s hysterical cries, while she herself bled profusely from the wound on her face. Covered in her daughter’s blood, her mother only wailed louder.
In the aftermath, the main family wanted to bury the incident as much as possible. Aétéría was removed from the home, stripped of her surname and birthright, and made a ward of the local Baron. A Witch was too valuable to simply throw away. At 13, she was permitted to attend the knight’s school, and was exemplary, as expected of the First. She was scouted into the Rínadaésé’s Inquisitorial Office right out of training, on a buyout of her contract with the Baron.
Personality
Aétéría is a mystery to those around her. The memories from the previous First Witches has made her cold and numb to the brutalities of war. For all that’s happened to her, she still loves her mother dearly and considers the scar on her face a dear memento. To some she is completely insane, and yet to others, she is an inspiring and heroic goddess. The truth lies somewhere in between. She lives her life by doing what she believes is just. However, what is just only aligns with her worldview, and can change easily due to outside manipulation. The Rínadaésé have rightfully surmised that she is a weapon and manipulate her as such: with care and cautious respect, pointing the danger toward their enemies.
Aétéría shows impaired empathy and absolutely no remorse. She acts in pursuit of her justice, and so is never wrong, and therefore cannot feel regret. In her thinking, she has made the best possible decisions in the moment and does not blame herself for them. She shows many traits of having an antisocial personality disorder, and for those on the wrong side of her justice she disregards the rights and well-being.
However, if one is on the right side of her justice, she is the strongest ally and will sacrifice her life if need be. Her only fear is that she is losing herself and sanity.
These traits make her fearless, bold and reckless and she has all of the qualities of a good leader. Her emotions are not completely impaired, and she still feels affection, joy, anger and loneliness.
Aétéría makes no distinction between her titles publicly but is extremely proud of the “Witch of the Sword” common title and using it is the best way to get on her good side. Aétéría’s official title, and the secondary “Witch of Lament” makes her sound fearsome, which she understands has utility against her enemies.
History of the First Witches
Previous First Witches earned their titles for their prowess in battle, and the sheer destructive forces they wield. Countless battles were won at their hand, saving kingdoms, and dooming others. Battles typically begin at dawn’s first light, so if an enemy sees the Witch of Lament on the other side, it’s likely his last day drawing breath.
Each incarnation is inexorably drawn to upholding her version of justice, having had severe justice done against them for hundreds of years for the original’s transgressions.
The First Witches are also the only ones who seek to be knighted over being an archmage on each incarnation and each one of them is extremely skilled at the sword. They have served as a knight in many a lord’s retinue, and like the Fourth Witches, the First Witches tend to prefer to live humbly. They prefer to be in service and can be easily manipulated for her ideals. The 6th First Witch served as a battlemage, until she went clear on the battlefield and was bested by an enemy knight’s sword in 371 of the Second Dawn. This made the 7th pick up the sword and in the following incarnations, became the expert she is today.
The First Witches earned their official title in the year 1 of the Third Dawn for valorous service.

Fénríya, The 17th Second Witch of the Faithful Adorant
Age: 23
Nameday: Laédésa 22
Other titles: The Witch of Calamity, The Witch of Desire
Whereabouts: Serving as the Chief Imperial Mage of the Ílorísian Empire, Capital City Komaídété, Dominion of Lorísé
Zhiényomí (name meaning / reading): “Clear emerald”, “The noble one in the cold spring”
Intent: Desire
Background
Fénríya was born in 682 IY, to a fairly wealthy merchant family in Hoshítanía. Her mother was Aíludé, and father Asékén from the Ílorísían steppe. The unique combination of the two caused her to have red and silver hair. Her native tongue is Laénara.
She was able to attend the Naralíné College in Ílorísía, and after confirming her status as a Witch, she was made a member of the aegirine order immediately.
It’s a prodigious thing when a Witch attends a college, for the students and the faculty. The students know that a creator of magic is attending lectures with them, and the faculty feel both inferior and awestruck by their appearance. But, like anything, magicka changes from year to year, and certainly from lifetime to lifetime. There is always value in attending schooling.
Her family was able to pay the tuition; however the tuition had been waived due to her status. Being that she is the Second Witch, her presence was always felt among the male population. She did receive the affections of boys and surprisingly girls her age and participated in “courtship activities” (public dates), with others looking to marry. Many of the faculty also sought her hand for marriage. Often, she was asked to do guest lectures.
She was scouted for the Chief Imperial Mage position during her final year, when she became an adult at 19. Upon graduating, she was immediately appointed the position and has held it since.
Personality
Outwardly, Fénríya is a flawless, calm and cool woman, and does not appear to let things get to her. But inside, she is as flawed as anyone else. She was always self-conscious about her Aíludé ancestry, her odd red hair and yellow eyes. Even her skin tone is different from the common tan shades. She has struggled with identity issues, on if she was Aíludé, or Asékén. In her later teenage years, she leaned heavily into her Aíludé ancestry, getting the ornate hand tattoos while still in college. Like all Witches, she lives in the shadow of the great Witches who came before her. However, no Second has risen to the heights that she has.
Fénríya tends to be passive and will “go with the flow”, in both love and work. She also falls in love easily, and this may be due to her Intent. This has caused her to develop dependency issues. Each incarnation of the Second Witch is drawn to desire, and to be desired, and Fénríya is no different. She loves freely and openly. But despite outward appearances and her reputation, she is not polyamorous and will dedicate herself wholly to her chosen partner. Due to different circumstances, her relationships never last long. She adores being the object of attention.
Fénríya hates the secondary title the “Witch of Calamity”, and anyone who uses it. She has no opinion of the “Witch of Desire” title, and for most purposes, prefers the official title.
She is currently in love with the Imperial Household Minister Tíléké.
History of the Second Witches
Every Second has been the most influential Witch in societal politics, responsible for power struggles in royal families, shifting influence across the continent, and discontent at the highest levels. In each incarnation, they are said the be the most beautiful and most well-endowed amongst the Witches, who are already counted among the most beautiful women in the world. The Second Witches have always been socialites; celebrities known across the continent. Each incarnation is drawn to desire, and to be desired, and so they love freely and openly.
Every Second Witch’s relationships never last long, in any lifetime. The Second Witches adore being the object of attention and are highly public figures.
Not many men can endure a relationship with a Second Witch incarnation without succumbing to jealousy and the darker sides of their natures. This is due, in part, to their Intent. This has been to their detriment in previous incarnations, leading to political conflicts, scandals, and oftentimes, their own murders. Fénríya herself believes that the Second’s most powerful magicka is that over people.
The Second Witches are also known by other, less respectful and derogatory titles in some circles, which is entirely unfair. Some consider the Second Witches their muse; others believe they brings great misfortune. For all though, men and women alike, each incarnation is an object of desire.
The Second Witches earned their official title in the year 1 of the Third Dawn for contributions to society.

Unknown, The 14th Third Witch of the Arcane Grimoire
Age: 8
Nameday: Unknown
Other titles: The Witch of Lore, The Witch of the Abbey
Whereabouts: Unknown
Zhiényomí (name meaning / reading): N/A
Intent: Insight
Background
The 13th Third Witch was an Aíludé woman who died 8 years ago at the age of 187. The current Third Witch is a 8 year old girl who has not revealed herself to the public, and by law does not have to reveal herself until she is 13.
History of the Third Witches
The Third Witches are perhaps the most gifted theorists of all the Witches, which is no small feat. Over lifetimes, they have advanced magicka theory, sharing some of the specialized spells they developed, creating entire specialization branches for regular mages to dedicate their lives to.
In different incarnations, they have taught at the magicka colleges and have always been involved with them for generations in one capacity or another.
The 9th Third Witch Íthka, along with the 7th Fifth Witch, help found a college which no longer exists today, but became the model that later colleges still aspire to.
Every incarnation has been drawn to teach and take pupils, and they have taught generations of mages with textbooks they have written.
The Third Witch’s title is well earned, and they are one of the most respected of all Witches.
The Third Witches earned their official title in the year 1 of the Third Dawn for the founding of colleges and instruction of mages.

Karísa, the 15th Fourth Witch of the Unbroken Wilderness
Age: 19
Nameday: Gamérí 13
Other titles: The Witch of the Lost, The Witch of Impulse
Whereabouts: Last observed surveying the Shímaírí
Zhiényomí (name meaning / reading): “Gentle snow”, “the first cold of autumn”
Intent: Autonomy
Background
Karísa was born in 686 IY, in a free family home in Ríanésía. She is the second child of five, and the eldest daughter. Her father worked as a blacksmith artificer, and her mother supplemented their income as a míya (priestess), working at the local shrine. Her native tongue is Atíríníl.
Her parents noticed early on that Karísa was different. She was a precocious child, walking, talking and learning to read and write at early ages. It all made sense when she admitted that she was a Witch at five years old.
Her parents took it well, initially excited, but then told her not to tell anyone about it until she was of age. They agreed to keep it secret between the three of them.
Karísa though, quickly grew tired of the village in which they lived. To her younger siblings, she was a tomboyish older sister who was fun and full of adventure. She was well known throughout the village as either a pest or a playful guest. But as she got older, she became even more well known for something else: her incredible beauty.
She started going on “trips” at around nine years old. In her heart, she was yearning to explore and see the world. The first time she didn’t come home, the village organized search parties, only for her to turn up back in her bed, filthy and covered in dirt. She even started bringing home wild animal familiars. There was little they could do when she walked through the village riding a wild bear.
Her parents were becoming stressed with their wild daughter, and she was either alienating her other siblings, or in the case of the youngest daughter, becoming a bad influence.
By the time she was twelve, she would disappear for weeks at a time. That same year, she took the younger sister with her on one of her journeys through the Ríanésían countryside. She didn’t tell her parents however, and the local Lord became involved in the search for them. They were eventually found on a road, with Karísa’s familiar, by a company of knights.
The knights quickly assessed the threat of the bear and slaughtered it, to the horror of the girls. Angry, Karísa attacked the guard with water magicka, until her sister was taken hostage and held at sword point. Karísa gave in and was manacled and taken to the local Lord.
Her parents were summoned to the court, for a trial. During the trial, they decided to reveal that Karísa was a Witch, and should be spared punishment. She demonstrated in court her proficiency with the elements, and in lieu of imprisonment, was contracted to serve the local Lord in perpetuity when she was of age. All parties agreed.
A year passed, and Karísa came of age at 13, and was titled as the new Fourth Witch of the Unbroken Wilderness. Soon after, she disappeared from Ríanésía completely.
Two years of traveling later, she found herself on the southern subcontinent, in the Séwaragí desert. She had made contact with the desert Sekh tribes and had begun living amongst them. Her magicka specialty is water magicka, and she was invaluable to them for both water and healing magicka. She was strong in spirit, and strong of personality, and fit in quite well with them.
She was permitted to get a tribal tattoo and got one of her own design under her right eye. Having taken part of the coming-of-age ceremony, she returned to adventuring in the larger continent, making money selling wild foraged goods, or doing odd magicka jobs here and there, mostly with earth magicka. She makes friends wherever she goes, taking up sketching and journaling. She sends these full sketchbooks and journals to her parent’s home in Ríanésía via a familiar. Her parents do not respond to her, but her youngest sister writes her letters back.
Karísa’s true talents lie in oration, and she is capable of five simultaneous contracts. She makes all manner of contracts with various creatures, including some of Alcrést’s most dangerous species.
Personality
Karísa is friendly and cheerful to most people, but at times it is a façade that hides her loneliness. She travels alone around the continent, and this loneliness, combined with her impulsivity has left her seeking to fill the emptiness physically, and so she can be promiscuous, which she often regrets afterwards.
Karísa is known as the Witch of Impulse, due to how fickle and volatile the Fourth Witches can be. She does not like violence but can hardly hold herself back if she is angry. She knows herself, and the title fits her more than she’d like to admit.
She lives by the tattoo she has under her eye: “kya-las” or ‘freedom’ written in Atíríníl. She absolutely refuses to be held down by anyone or anything. She will not submit, she will not marry, and she refuses all romantic love. She must be free and will do anything to ensure it.
While this has granted her unprecedented levels of freedom in the world, it has stunted her growth emotionally, and has left her without a companion, which deep down she desperately wants.
Karísa hates the title the “Witch of the Lost”, insisting that it is the other Witches who are truly lost. She believes that out of all the Witches, she is the only one who is free.
Karísa doesn’t care much for the secondary title, the “Witch of Impulse” preferring her official title, which she is quite proud of.
Karísa can be found by anyone frequently traveling Alcrést’s wild places off the beaten path, although she may not look like the other Witches as she chases animals, or sketches in the grass on a worn-out pad.
History of the Fourth Witches
The Fourth Witches are consistently the least understood of the Six. While the other Witches have their attachments from life to life, the Fourth Witches are unique in that they usually have none. They are just as strong as any other Witch in magicka, and could serve in royal courts like some others, living a life of luxury, but they usually instead choose to live simply, frugally, taking only what they need and leaving no traces behind.
The Fourth Witches never stay in one place for too long, always seeking new discoveries, observing people and creatures, making maps and sketching the lives of people. This lifestyle always leaves them wandering the continent but has made them quite a few friends among the common people over many lifetimes.
The Fourth Witches earned their official title in the year 5 of the Third Dawn for contributions made in international expeditions, and for a multitude of natural discoveries.

Maírí, The 14th Fifth Witch of the Encircled Star
Age: 43
Nameday: Unknown
Other titles: The Witch of Silence, The Witch of the Eclipse
Whereabouts: Unknown, last observed in Orínalta
Zhiényomí (name meaning / reading): “Forest”, “In defense of the truth”
Intent: Observation
Background
Not much is known about Maírí, as the Fifth Witches have been reclusive for the past four generations. However, she identified herself as a Witch in Sélénkara when she was 13, as is required, and has been out of public life since. Her native tongue is likely Laénara.
She is an Aílude woman, and was last observed in the Orínaltan countryside, living with her woman partner.
History of the Fifth Witches
The history of the Fifth Witches is now legend. The 10th Fifth Witch Hakura, was first among the Witches to serve as a court mage, becoming a noble, and is certainly the most well known Witch of all time.
In the year 37 of the Third Dawn, during her time as the court mage of Manarína, Hakura publicized a prediction for ringed eclipses, while doing humanitarian work in South Manarína.
She developed her Occultation Theorem, three formulas predicting the time and the location of future eclipses given the time and location of a past eclipse. These equations allowed scholars to enter in historical data of a previous eclipse and find out where and when the Nth eclipse in the future would occur, down to the location of totality and the minute.
Hakura’s Occultation Theorem in Base-10
Minutefut = (Dayabs x 1800) + Mininst + (Cyclefut x Ctime)
Constants
Lonfut = [Lon – (Cyclefut * Lslip)] % 360
Latfut = Lat * cos(Cyclefut * Lwob)
Ct (Cycle Time) = 5,418,612
Ls (Lon Slip) = 122.4 degrees
Lw (Lat Wobble) = 20 degrees
Hakura took the ringed eclipse as her standard for her newly created noble house. Now a noble and serving under the king directly, Hakura and the King formed a romantic relationship and marry, elevating her to Queen consort.
Rumors spread about the capability of Witches to orate and make men their familiars. Blaming Hakura for enthralling the king and causing the nation’s poor circumstances, she is executed by an unruly mob. The king was deposed, and the nation fell into anarchy and ruin.
Thereafter, the Fifth Witches were granted the pejorative title the “Witch of Silence”, after Hakura’s tongue was cut out by the mob for allegedly whispering commands in the king’s ear. Poems and songs were sung about the event, and it has since fallen into legend, featured prominently in the “Distant Tales” series of books popular among noble children.
The Fifth Witches earned their official title in the year 43 of the Third Dawn after her Theorem successfully predicted the time and location of the eclipse that year.
Laínaä, The 11th Sixth Witch of the Infernal Oculus
Age: 43
Nameday: Kéyamorí 13
Other titles: The Witch of Twilight, The Witch of the End
Whereabouts: Unknown
Zhiényomí (name meaning / reading): “Unending family harmony”
Intent: Quintessence
Background
Not much is known of the current Sixth Witch, but she was in the public eye for a time. Laínaä was born in 672 IY in Hoshítanía. Her mother was a prostitute at a brothel, and her father was unknown, as one of the patrons. She was raised in the brothel for a time, but the proprietor did not want to have a little girl grow up there, as her mother still had many years on her contract. So, her mother gave her up to the orphanage when she was two years old. Her native tongue is Laénara.
Laínaä was just learning how to speak, but she already knew who she was, and knew magic intimately. By three, she came out as the Sixth Witch to the orphanage staff, who took advantage of the young witch for 6 years, putting her to work and profiting off of her labor.
Laínaä ran away at nine and eventually found her way to a freeman couple’s farm, hiding out in their barn for a few days. She was discovered by the couple’s children, and the family decided to take her in. She worked on the farm, and had a real family for once, for a few peaceful years.
She reluctantly came out to the family that she was a Witch when she was 12. Initially, they were terrified, but came to accept her, and decided to send her off to school the following year. She went to Naralíné College, and being a Witch, the fee was waived.
Similar to all Witches who attend a college, she became a celebrity overnight. But her upbringing was troubled, and she was always a quiet and reserved girl, despite her beautiful appearance. Many said they felt intimidated by her, so her celebrity star soon faded. She was an instant aegirine order for all six years of her attendance.
Upon graduation, she was scouted by kingdoms and duchies for an assortment of positions but turned them all down. She stated her intention to return home and has not been heard from since.
History of the Sixth Witches
Since the first incarnation, the Sixth Witches’ activities have been sporadic. Each incarnation shies away from the spotlight some of her ‘sisters’ seem to crave, tending to be reclusive. The Sixth Witches have also had the fewest reincarnations, avoiding the public and hiding their status frequently through the ages.
All Sixth Witches are drawn to understanding the aether, time and space. Each Sixth excels at all magicka, like their sisters, but their real strength lies in force magicka. The Sixth Witches are pioneers in the field, capable of creating minuscule points of extreme attraction, warping space around it.
The Sixth Witches have been convinced that force magicka is the key to unlocking the secrets of the aether, and keys to traversing realms. Once, during a rare period of activity, the 9th Sixth Witch demonstrated her force magicka at Naralíné College in the year 172 of the Third Dawn.
During a live demonstration in front of students, faculty, researchers and others, she generated a force so strong, it formed a large dark orb which bent the vision around it. This created a panic that she had created a gate to an evil realm, convincing many that the Sixth Witch was capable of ending the world.
Historically, the Sixth Witches are not fond of their secondary title “The Witch of the End” because despite shying away from people, they don’t want to be feared.
The Sixth Witches are also special, in that they seem to have less incarnations than their sisters. This is most likely due to experiments in developing force magicka and being so close to the massive objects they create that has caused them to experience time dilation.
The Sixth Witches earned their official title in the year 172 of the Third Dawn for contributions to the science of magicka.
